Antes de hablar de Savoca <\/strong>os contar\u00e9 una historia que probablemente ya conoc\u00e9is.<\/p>\n

Sicilia, <\/strong>d\u00e9cada de los 50. Un hombre joven de piel morena y acento americano decide esconderse en esta isla de la justicia legal por un lado y de la vendetta de la mafia por otro. Aunque no conoce Sicilia de aqu\u00ed provienen sus antepasados .<\/p>\n

Acaba de asesinar en Nueva York a un mafioso traficante de droga y a un inspector de polic\u00eda de varios balazos a quemarropa en un restaurante lleno de gente.<\/p>\n

Este joven busca honor, respeto y vengar el atentado que acaba de sufrir su padre y que por poco acaba con su vida. Su padre se llamaba Vito Corleone, y \u00e9l indudablemente, es Michael Corleone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

El anterior pasaje es uno de los eventos determinantes de la saga de \u00abEl Padrino\u00bb. <\/a>Michael huye a la isla de Sicilia. All\u00ed todav\u00eda viven viejos amigos de su familia, la cual fue completamente asesinada por la mafia en Corleone. El \u00fanico que consigui\u00f3 sobrevivir siendo un ni\u00f1o fue su padre Vito, que huy\u00f3 a Nueva York y construy\u00f3 su propio imperio desde cero.<\/strong><\/p>\n

En Sicilia Michael se reencuentra con sus ra\u00edces: tradiciones aprendidas, una cultura que le es familiar y que ahora de verdad descubre. Todos y cada uno de los pasajes de Sicilia en la saga son una aut\u00e9ntica maravilla, reflejando a la perfecci\u00f3n la realidad siciliana de la \u00e9poca. Y as\u00ed, cuando Michael se enamora de una joven griega y va a pedir la mano a su padre en el \u00abbar Vitelli\u00bb donde este trabaja, nos transportamos a esa \u00e9poca de arraigo, tradici\u00f3n y familia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

La mayor\u00eda de la gente cree que estas escenas fueron rodadas en la localidad de Corleone, famosa tambi\u00e9n por los innumerables lazos mafiosos que ha tenido hasta la actualidad. Sin embargo, casi todas fueron rodadas en el peque\u00f1o burgo medieval<\/strong> de las monta\u00f1as llamado Savoca, <\/strong>en la provincia de Mesina.<\/p>\n

C\u00f3mo llegar a Savoca<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Savoca est\u00e1 a solo 30 minutos de Taormina<\/a> en coche, por lo que es muy buena opci\u00f3n visitar este pueblo en una excursi\u00f3n de un d\u00eda o media ma\u00f1ana si se va a Taormina viniendo del norte. Sin una es uno de los lugares m\u00e1s pintorescos que ver en Sicilia.<\/strong><\/a> Para llegar al pueblo situado en la colina hay que sortear una carretera con curvas. Poco a poco te vas elevando con la monta\u00f1a al frente y el mar en el retrovisor.<\/p>\n

Si viajan desde Messina deb\u00e9is tomar la A18 y salir a \u201cRoccalumera\u201d, seguir por Furci Siculo y S. Teresa di Riva. Desde Catania, nuevamente tomaremos la A18 salida Taormina nord, seguir direcci\u00f3n Letojanni, S. Alessio Siculo hasta llegar a S. Teresa di Riva.<\/p>\n

Qu\u00e9 ver en Savoca<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Savoca no necesita gu\u00edas tur\u00edsticas ni mapas, simplemente relajarse, disfrutarlo, y respirar ese aire hist\u00f3rico que tiene.<\/p>\n

Bar Vitelli<\/h3>\n

La primera parada en la plaza principal de Savoca es el famoso bar Vitelli<\/strong> donde Michael pide la mano de Apollonia, la joven de la que se ha enamorado. El bar en s\u00ed es un propio museo. Conserva la puerta original, con las mismas cortinas incluso que hab\u00eda hace m\u00e1s de 40 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Dentro se pueden encontrar numerosas fotograf\u00edas y objetos de la saga, como las famosas escopetas Luppara. <\/em><\/p>\n

El bar Vitelli no es solo el t\u00edpico sitio tur\u00edstico lleno de gente atra\u00edda por los misterios de la saga. Nos sorprendi\u00f3 que tuvieran productos de gran calidad a precios asequibles. B\u00e1sicamente es el t\u00edpico bar de pueblo de toda la vida, solo que con muchos m\u00e1s turistas. Recomendamos encarecidamente el Granite di pistacchio <\/em>en su terraza exterior.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Iglesias que ver en Savoca<\/h3>\n

Despu\u00e9s del Bar Vitelli, subiendo la empinada calle, encontr\u00e1is la siguiente parada obligatoria para todos aquellos amantes de la saga; la Chiesa di San Nicol\u00f3, <\/strong>donde Michael y Apollonia se casan, bailan y celebran su boda.<\/p>\n

El resto del pueblo se puede ver en una hora escasa. Sobre todo os recomiendo que sub\u00e1is a la Chiesa di Santa Maria in Cielo Assunta.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Una vez ah\u00ed, pod\u00e9is disfrutar de incre\u00edbles vistas con verdes monta\u00f1as a un lado y el mar al otro.<\/p>\n

Otras iglesias que pod\u00e9is visitar son la Iglesia de San Giovanni<\/strong> y la <\/span>Iglesia de San Michele. <\/strong>Todas las iglesias est\u00e1n abiertas al p\u00fablico aunque piden una donaci\u00f3n de 2\u20ac para entrar.<\/p>\n

Museos que visitar en Savoca<\/h3>\n

Existen dos museos que ver en Savoca. El primero, que ya hemos mencionado, se trata del museo del Bar Vitelli<\/strong> donde en dos salas se ubican elementos que usaron para grabar la saga del Padrino. Este museo es gratuito.<\/p>\n

El otro museo es el Museo Storico Etnoantropologico di Savoca<\/strong> . La entrada tiene un precio de 6\u20ac.<\/p>\n

Otras cosas que ver en Savoca<\/h3>\n

Lo mejor es que recorras Savoca tom\u00e1ndote tu tiempo. As\u00ed descubrir\u00e1s rincones que no aparecen en las gu\u00edas de viaje, como parte del muro medieval donde a\u00fan se conserva un arco o la entrada antigua de la ciudad.<\/p>\n

Otro de los puntos que nos gust\u00f3 bastante en Savoca fue la Piazza Fossia <\/strong>donde se sit\u00faa el Bar Vitelli y donde tenemos unas vistas estupendas del valle.<\/p>\n

Si quieres hacer alguna otra actividad en Savoca te aconsejo que pasees hasta el Castello Pentefur<\/strong> donde tambi\u00e9n conseguir\u00e1s unas vistas maravillosa.<\/p>\n

Recomendamos esta parada sobre todo para aquellos fans de la saga y de la historia del cine. Si no hab\u00e9is visto las pel\u00edculas no pod\u00e9is visitar Savoca sin hacerlo. Y para los que las hab\u00e9is visto es una oportunidad fant\u00e1stica para volverlas a ver.
