6 years later, I have taken a new Astro image in my home country, Spain! The Cabo de Gata Natural Park in Almería (Southern Spain) is a very special place since this is where I started taking my first Milky Way images many years ago.

The windmill framed with the Winter Milky Way constellations is a Mediterranean windmill typical of this area, dating back to the XIX century.

This is probably the best winter-sun destination in the world, with very mild winters, clear skies, and the best tapas in the world. Hope I can retire here one day with Ascen!

The year is coming to an end, and, like I've been doing over the last few years, I like to slow down and reflect on all the good moments I've been fortunate to experience.

2022 has probably been the busiest year of my life.

A year full of discovery where I have spent more time traveling than at home. Of course, with all the stress of a semi-nomadic life, but also with all the rewards of spending more time outdoors than ever, whether around impressive landscapes or under beautiful starry skies.

A year full of meeting great minds and people. It’s difficult to count how many amazing photographers I’ve met this year. One of my favorite quotes by Chris McCandless says: “Happiness only real when shared.” I like exploring and discovering on my own, but nothing compares to sharing experiences with people you care about. This year, I’ve had the privilege of meeting a lot of new souls along the way that I can call friends now.

A year of fulfillment. I have worked harder and more hours than ever. However, by definition, work is a task that requires a sustained effort, and my genuine passion and enthusiasm for what I do, make all this work effortless. We run 14 photo tours in 5 countries with +150 participants and opened 6 new destinations for 2023. We have created a fantastic team of talented and passionate photo tour leaders, and we are preparing some great projects for next year and beyond. @davidaguilar_photo @dreamcapturedimages @prince.pbo @josephjamescole @jl_cantabranagarcia @johnbyrnphotography

I feel blessed for all this, but life is not linear; there are always ups and downs. Things were tough over the last years with Covid, but it's beautiful to see how things are progressing now. Let's enjoy them while we can!
