Hi there! I’m Francesco Dall’Olmo, a landscape and timelapse photographer passionate about capturing the natural world. My photography journey began with a fascination for the night sky, and ever since I saw an image of the Milky Way for the first time, I’ve been hooked. I saved up for my first camera and set off on a lifelong adventure of exploring, photographing, and sharing the beauty of the world around us.
I specialize in landscape photography, with a focus on remote places that feel untouched by time. Nature is where I feel most at home, and I love hiking up mountains and camping under starry skies to get the perfect shot. There’s something truly magical about sharing these vast landscapes with other photographers, forming lasting bonds in places few have seen. This connection to nature is what drives me to capture not just the details of a scene but also the mood and emotion. I want my images to transport viewers to those places, making them feel as if they’re standing there with me.
Timelapse photography has become another key part of my work. It allows me to capture the slow, steady movements of light and nature, creating sequences that bring landscapes to life in ways that a single photo can’t. I’m especially drawn to wide, expansive scenes, and I often use a tracker to keep the stars sharp while focusing on the landscape itself. For me, the blend of night and day in these timelapses creates a captivating effect that reveals the world in a whole new way.
One of the things I enjoy most is sharing my love for photography with others. As a self-taught photographer, I understand the challenges of learning on your own, which is why I strive to make my workshops both easygoing and insightful. I focus on explaining the “how” and “why” behind each technique, so participants can develop their own style and approach.
I’m excited to meet you on a Capture the Atlas tour, where we’ll create incredible memories while photographing the world’s most stunning landscapes together!
