The Bright Angel cabins accommodate up to 3 guests. Each unit features a queen bed and either a full private bath or a private bath with just a shower. Some cabins even offer partial canyon views and come equipped with a lovely fireplace. Additionally, amenities such as a TV, coffee maker, and iron with ironing board are provided for your convenience.

Keep in mind that the cabins do not have air conditioning, but they do feature ceiling fans to help with ventilation. While these cabins do not include kitchens, a small refrigerator is available in case you need to store some groceries or beverages. Moreover, there are three restaurants within the complex: The Arizona Room, the Bright Angel Restaurant, and the Bright Angel Fountain, ensuring you won’t go hungry.
There are plenty of attractions near this charming lodge, offering an opportunity to enjoy some of the best things to do in the Grand Canyon South Rim. 2. Phantom Ranch, one of the most popular cabins at the bottom of the Grand Canyon
If you’re considering hiking the Rim-to-Rim Trail, book a stay at Phantom Ranch, one of the most historic cabins at the Grand Canyon, and the only lodging below the canyon rim by the Colorado River. Accessible only by mule, on foot, or through rafting the Grand Canyon, it’s a unique retreat, with spots allocated through this 15-month advance lottery due to high demand.
Accommodation options at the ranch include standard cabins, which accommodate 2 to 4 guests, and dormitories specifically for hikers. The cabins are very primitive but are the most unique cabins for rent in the Grand Canyon. They are pretty basic but are heated during the winter and cooled in the summer. All cabins are equipped with either bunk beds or King beds, cold-water sinks, and private bathrooms without showers. But don’t worry; there is a spotlessly clean and well-maintained Shower House located near the cabins.
2. Phantom Ranch, one of the most popular cabins at the bottom of the Grand Canyon
Additionally, there are two large cabins with 5 sets of bunk beds accommodating up to 10 people, featuring amenities similar to the smaller cabins. As for dining options, the Phantom Ranch Canteen, open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., offers exclusive dining for guests with reservations, including beverages and snacks.
What I loved about this place was its absolute serenity and close-to-nature atmosphere. Even if getting in and out was exhausting, seeing the breathtaking landscapes of the Grand Canyon was undeniably one of the most memorable experiences of my life. For a successful trip, book well in advance and train accordingly, as reaching the ranch is at least an 8-mile journey from the South Rim and 14 miles from the North Rim, with a significant elevation gain on the return trip of at least 4,460 ft.

The Buckey O’Neill Cabin is a gem within Bright Angel Lodge, and one of the most storied lodges in Grand Canyon National Park. Securing a reservation for this unique cabin was quite challenging due to its popularity, so we had to play a little bit with our travel dates to be able to stay there. However, our persistence paid off, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Despite the absence of a kitchen or air conditioning, we felt completely at ease in our surroundings. The cabin boasts amenities such as a mini fridge, a wet bar, a comfy couch, and a large-screen TV. Plus, there are numerous excellent dining options just a short walk away, within the Angel Bright Lodge complex.

4. Red Horse Cabin, a cabin rental at the Grand Canyon with a rich history
The Red Horse Cabin, another gem within the Bright Angel Lodge, is celebrated as one of the best lodges in the Grand Canyon, with a rich history dating back to 1890. It is, in fact, the oldest structure on the South Rim. Its exceptional location near some of the best hiking routes in the Grand Canyon South Rim makes it an outstanding option for staying inside Grand Canyon Village.
The cabin consists of a sitting area and a bedroom featuring a king-sized bed and a rollaway bed, perfect for accommodating 2 to 3 guests. Additionally, it includes two bathrooms with clawfoot tubs, two closets, a mini refrigerator, and a coffee maker.

Just bear in mind that it doesn’t have air conditioner or a kitchen. However, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Plus, it has a table with 4 chairs, so you can order takeout and enjoy a dinner in the comfort of your cabin in front of the lovely fireplace.
Similar to the booking process for Buckey’s Cabin, reservations for the Red Horse Cabin can only be done by phone. So, make sure you call in advance to reserve one of the most beautiful cabins in Grand Canyon National Park.

If you are looking for budget-friendly cabin rentals in the Grand Canyon for a family trip, I recommend the Tiny Homes at Sage Creek Mobile Park, located in Valle, just 24 miles (30 minutes) from Grand Canyon Village. With 30 units available, you’re sure to find the perfect accommodation for your needs.
Among my favorite cabins are the 076 Tiny Home and the 079 Tiny Home, both boasting three bedrooms and a living room, comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests. For couples seeking a cozy retreat, the multi-unit cabins offer several compact studios with private bathrooms, like the 075A unit.

Each unit features a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a beautiful front porch, and some even include amenities like a large loft, dining tables, and 4K smart TVs. Some cabins even come with a full kitchen, equipped with essentials like a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. And if you’re craving a hearty meal, you can always head to the nearby Grand Canyon Inn, Restaurant & Lounge for a delicious dining experience.

Situated just a 30-minute drive from the South Rim entrance of the Grand Canyon, Dumplin Patch Bed & Breakfast stands out as the only traditional B&B in the area. Widely acclaimed among the finest cabins near the Grand Canyon, this delightful establishment caters to a diverse range of guests with four types of rooms, including a two-bedroom suite, a queen room, a family suite, and a lovely cabin known as The Shack.

You can choose from one-bedroom cabins, accommodating up to 4 guests, and two-bedroom cabins, accommodating up to 6 guests. The one-bedroom cabins feature a king bed and a pull-out sleeper sofa, while the two-bedroom cabins come with the same amenities along with two additional twin beds.

8. Cabins at Grand Canyon West, one of the best cabin rentals in the Grand Canyon for couples
Cabins at Grand Canyon West are among the best hotels in the Grand Canyon West Rim, offering four types of rooms, ranging from the affordable Single Room to the more luxurious Queen Room with disability access.
Most cabins can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, with even a large suite available for 8 people. They all feature a patio, a private bathroom, and a terrace as well as modern amenities such as AC, a TV, a coffee maker, an oven, a mini-fridge, and a microwave.

Just remember that if you wish to visit the Skywalk, there is an additional fee; however, you can explore Eagle and Guano Points for free.
9. Hull Cabin, a charming Grand Canyon cabin in a secluded environment
Hull Cabin is one of the historic Grand Canyon camping cabins located on a dirt road that connects with Desert View Drive, between Grandview Point and Moran Point, in the South Rim. With its origins as a one-room homestead constructed by the Hull family in the late 1880s, it has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places.
Perfect for accommodating up to six guests, Hull Cabin offers no electricity or plumbing but has a cozy bedroom furnished with two twin-sized bunk beds, a welcoming living room featuring a queen-sized futon, and a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator with freezer, dishes, utensils, pots, pans and some cleaning supplies.

Being the most secluded option in this guide, your packing list for the Grand Canyon should include bedding, towels, garbage bags, dishwashing liquid, a flashlight, and an axe for chopping wood and making fires.
