Prince Berkoh

Photographer & Instructor at Capture the Atlas

Hey there! I’m Prince, a visual storyteller on a mission to capture the beauty of our world. From a young age, I was fascinated by visual media—whether it was getting lost in comic books, nature documentaries, or the stunning graphics of video games. Through these, I explored the world, imagining myself in wild places, dreaming that one day, I’d experience them firsthand.

My journey into photography began when I discovered my parents’ old bridge camera. I started experimenting with it, capturing anything that caught my eye, without much technical knowledge. But everything changed in 2018, when I got my hands on a secondhand Sony camera. A life-changing trip to the Faroe Islands made me realize that if I wanted my images to match my vision, I had a lot to learn. From that moment, I dedicated myself to mastering the craft.

Today, I specialize in daytime landscapes and astrophotography. To me, photography is about balancing artistry with technical skill. Whether I’m capturing natural landscapes or the Milky Way, my goal is to tell a story and pull viewers into the scene.

On my photography tours, I create a welcoming environment where participants feel supported, regardless of their skill level. Watching others grow in confidence and skill is incredibly rewarding, especially when they capture that perfect shot.

When I’m not leading tours or editing photos, I’m likely traveling, working on filmmaking projects, or enjoying a game of disc golf.

I can’t wait to share my passion for photography with you and help you unlock the magic of the natural world!

My happy students

Nothing makes me happier than seeing photographers shine. Here’s what some of them have shared about their journey with me:

I've attended several photography workshops, but this one was my favorite. From the start, the organization, guidance, and booking help were invaluable. The group, ranging from ages 26 to 75 and diverse cultures, blended perfectly. Over two weeks, we shared great weather, stunning scenery, and a supportive atmosphere. Prince Berkoh and Francesco Dall'Olmo were outstanding guides, offering expert tips and generous knowledge. Their dedication made the trip unforgettable. I learned so much and am deeply grateful. My only suggestion would be to bring an inflatable mattress, as camping on hard ground was tough.

The Faroe Islands are incredible and the Capture the Atlas team helped us take in their magic. Despite the capricious weather, Prince and David did a great job of helping us all to capture many incredible views (even on a day when there was only a two-hour window of decent weather). Prince and David's enthusiasm for showing off the beauty of the Faroes was evident throughout the whole trip. I would recommend the trip for travelers with adventurous spirits and those wanting to get off the beaten path!

I recently completed a photography workshop in the Lofoten Islands with David Aguilar and Prince Berkoh from Capture the Atlas. Their expertise helped our group of ten capture stunning sunrises, sunsets, and Northern Lights. The workshop balanced shooting on location with lessons on editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. Despite the changing weather, we maximized good days for photography and used bad days for classroom sessions. The comfortable cabins were great for downtime. This experience greatly improved my skills, and I look forward to joining future workshops with Capture the Atlas.

I participated in the Dolomites Photo Tour 2023 (October 13-20). The area, the locations, the conditions, the perfect organization, the competence and affability of the two guides, Prince and Unai, always attentive, ready to advise us when taking photos, the good atmosphere in the group, have made this trip an unforgettable experience. I am looking forward to traveling again with Capture the Atlas, and I highly recommend it to all my friends and people interested in photography and travel.
