Another must-visit beach in Puerto del Carmen is Playa de los Pocillos, stretching over half a mile in length and offering an ideal setting for families to enjoy quality time together. Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, an attraction in Puerto del Carmen you should skip

Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park is often touted as a must-visit attraction in Puerto del Carmen by many blogs. However, we strongly advise against it. The park features a variety of wild animals from different parts of the world, all held in captivity.

We firmly believe that animals should not be exploited for human entertainment. Instead, we focus on many other things to do in Puerto del Carmen that allow us to appreciate animals in the wild. The town of Puerto del Carmen offers numerous alternatives that respect ecosystems and natural habitats, which makes Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park an unnecessary investment of time and money.

Visiting the wineries of La Geria is one of the must-do activities in Puerto del Carmen. You can spend a full day exploring the area or opt for a more relaxed experience by staying in one of the rural hotels in Lanzarote. Las Grietas

Here, you can observe the layers of solidified lava from various volcanic eruptions that have shaped the island over time. We stumbled upon this remarkable site almost serendipitously, as it was recommended to us by one of the hosts at our accommodation. However, I believe that Las Grietas will gain popularity over time as more travelers come to discover its beauty.

This peculiar geological formation is located next to the slopes of the Montaña Blanca volcano. To reach it, take the LZ-35 road, which connects the towns of San Bartolomé and Tías, and park your car in the unpaved parking lot nearby. It’s approximately 15 minutes from Puerto del Carmen, so it’s conveniently close. From there, simply cross the tunnel on foot and follow the path leading up the mountain.

Volcán del Cuervo

The Volcán del Cuervo, also known as Raven’s Volcano, is one of the top attractions near Puerto del Carmen that you simply cannot miss. Situated within Los Volcanes Natural Park, it ranks among the most important volcanoes in Lanzarote. Studies have revealed that it was the first volcano to emerge in Timanfaya, which explains why so many tourists come here to see the famous Caldera de los Cuervos.

It’s also one of the best hiking routes in Lanzarote offering an accessible adventure suitable for families with children. Personally, I found it to be a truly unique experience, and I highly recommend wandering among its rocky formations. Moreover, you’ll have the opportunity to identify lava-level markers from past eruptions and enjoy surreal landscapes along the way.

While you can undertake this hike independently, opting for this guided tour of Los Volcanes Natural Park is a more convenient option. This Puerto del Carmen tour includes a pick-up service and a well-optimized itinerary, ensuring you make the most of your time. With the guidance of your tour guide, you’ll have the chance to explore the park’s highlights and focus on enjoying your vacation to the fullest.
