Doing a Las Vegas-Valley of Fire tour is something you will never forget. If you have the time to take a day trip from Las Vegas, I highly recommend visiting this National Natural Landmark and Nevada’s oldest state park, dating back to 1934.

Millions of years of erosion and wind created the park’s intriguing rock formations. There are many things to do in Valley of Fire. Here, you can find canyon peaks, plateaus, petrified trees and dunes, and unique geological structures of shale, limestone, and red Aztec sandstone. When the sun hits the rocks, they have a fiery appearance, hence the name Valley of Fire!

It was a wonderful experience seeing the multi-colored formations, Atlatl Rock, and the petroglyphs left by the Ancestral Puebloans, who originally inhabited the land. No doubt, this is the best state park near Las Vegas.
