If you’re thinking of going to Vegas for your next family vacation, you might be wondering if Las Vegas has kid-friendly hotels. While I already wrote about where to stay in Las Vegas, I thought I’d share some more options and include Las Vegas’ best family-friendly hotels.
The truth is, there are lots of fun things to do in Las Vegas with kids since the city is full of interesting museums, beautiful parks, and kid-friendly shows and attractions. Plus, most of the area’s hotels have amenities tailored to families, not just adults. In this guide, I’m including a variety of hotels on and off the Strip so you can find your family’s perfect vacation spot.
In a nutshell, these are the 15 best hotels in Las Vegas for families:
- Circus Circus
- Mandalay Bay
- The Mirage
- The Venetian
- Excalibur
- Bellagio
- New York-New York
- Hilton Grand Vacations Suites
- Wynn Las Vegas
- MGM Grand
- Golden Nugget
- Treasure Island
- Planet Hollywood Resort
- The STRAT
- Red Rock Casino
1. Circus Circus, a fun, kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas
First, Circus Circus is one of the best hotels for families to stay in Las Vegas, especially if they’re on a budget. The resort has some of the lowest rates on the Strip, and the on-site attractions are free or very low-cost.
Circus Circus is one of Las Vegas’ themed hotels and the largest permanent big top in the country. This means you’ll find affordable activities that allow the whole family to get in on the fun.
For example, the Adventuredome indoor amusement park has modest admission prices and five acres of rides and games. Two of the most popular thrills are the Canyon Blaster and El Loco roller coasters, although there are family and kiddie rides, too. Children of all ages will love the park’s Midway attraction, where they can play mini-golf, try the rock-climbing wall, and enjoy the various carnival and arcade games. Plus, you can catch daily free circus acts with acrobats, clowns, jugglers, and stuntmen.
If you’re visiting in the warmer months, check out the Circus Circus Splash Zone & Pool, one of the best water parks in Las Vegas, featuring a 50-foot waterslide tower with three slides, a splash pad playground, pools, hot tubs, and cabanas.
The hotel accommodations are basic, but family rooms are available, and on-site parking is free. The non-smoking rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi and cable TV, and there are seven on-site restaurants, including a buffet, so even the pickiest eater will find something they like.
Circus Circus is a short walk to other family-friendly attractions like Vegas Indoor Skydiving, The Wynn’s Lake of Dreams show, and the STRAT SkyPod.
2. Mandalay Bay, one of the best family-friendly hotels in Las Vegas
Ask anyone in Sin City what the best hotel in Vegas for families is, and they’ll probably mention Mandalay Bay. This huge resort not only has a lot of kid-friendly activities but plenty of ways for adults to have fun, too.
Perhaps the coolest thing at this resort is Mandalay Bay Beach, which has a real sand beach (considered one of the best beaches in Las Vegas), a wave pool, a lazy river, and multiple lagoon pools. Plus, there is an on-site bar and grill and loads of cabanas for resting and relaxing.
The Shark Reef Aquarium is also popular with children and features walk-through tunnels with saltwater fish, exotic sharks, giant stingrays, endangered sea turtles, Komodo dragons, and piranha. Some other family activities at the hotel include hitting the Shoppes at Mandalay Bay or watching a Cirque du Soleil performance.
You could be satisfied without even leaving the property, although the Mandalay Bay Tram goes to the Luxor and Excalibur hotels, where you’ll find more kid-friendly attractions. Besides the casino, adults can have fun at Mandalay Bay’s full-service spa, its two dozen restaurants, or one of the bars or clubs.
The resort offers a wide selection of trendy rooms and suites with amenities that families will appreciate. These include comfy beds, in-room Wi-Fi, twin vanities, spacious floorplans, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Strip, the mountains, or Mandalay Bay Beach. Moreover, when it’s time to leave, you’ll appreciate that this hotel is near Las Vegas airport.
3. The Mirage, a spectacular kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas
The Mirage is one of the coolest kid-friendly hotels in Las Vegas Strip. One of the first things you’ll notice is the Mirage Volcano in front of the resort, which “erupts” every night in a free pyrotechnic display set to music. As you check in with the front desk, check out the lobby’s tropical forest atrium and 20,000-gallon saltwater aquarium.
The greatest part of The Mirage is that there are so many ways to have fun or unwind, all while spending quality time together. The Mirage Pool is a guest favorite, and the lush paradise has two pools, waterfall grottoes, daybeds, and a cafe. The Mirage is also home to the Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat, and while I haven’t visited it, the attraction is very popular.
With over a dozen restaurants and some of the most affordable rates on the Strip, this is one of the best hotels to stay in Las Vegas with family. The spacious Tower Suites come with a personal fridge, LCD TVs, an oversized soaking tub, and a minibar. You can also find rooms with views of the Mirage Volcano and two bathrooms, which parents will be grateful for!
Also, you can’t beat the location. The Mirage offers free tram service to Treasure Island, and it’s across the street from Madame Tussauds at The Venetian, which I’ll talk about next!
4. The Venetian, the best hotel to stay in Las Vegas with family
If you think it’s impossible to find a Las Vegas hotel that’s kid-friendly and 5-star quality, then let me tell you about The Venetian. This luxury Las Vegas hotel has it all, so it’s worth the price!
Kids and adults alike will marvel at the gorgeous replicas of Venice’s landmarks like the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco. You can see most of these replicas at the Grand Canal Shoppes, home to over 100 stores and a variety of restaurants. Here, you can treat the family to a gondola ride through the mall or maybe even let the kids learn how to navigate the boat at ‘Gondola University.’ Older kids and teens will enjoy the karaoke lounge and the Mods Museum, the first digital art gallery in the USA.
Another cool attraction at The Venetian is Madame Tussauds, where you can take selfies with over 100 celebrity wax figures. It’s a popular place, so I suggest purchasing a ticket in advance here or getting this combo ticket for the wax museum and a gondola ride.
The resort wouldn’t be one of the best kid-friendly hotels in Las Vegas if it didn’t have a family-friendly pool. The Venetian Pool Deck is newly renovated, with three infinity pools, a lap pool, in-pool loungers, and a cafe/bar. If it gets too hot by the pool, check out the minus5° Ice Experience, a series of themed rooms with ice sculptures.
Finally, The Venetian’s suites are larger than average, with oversized bathrooms, Roman tubs, luxurious linens, and beautiful views, so it’s perfect for a family vacation.
5. Excalibur, one of the best family-friendly hotels in Las Vegas
Without a doubt, Excalibur is one of the best hotels to stay in Las Vegas with family. The Camelot-themed resort immediately evokes a sense of childlike wonder with its castle-like facade, and the magic continues after you check in.
First, it has the perfect location with pedestrian bridges to several popular resorts, like the Luxor, which has some interesting exhibits, and New York-New York, an exciting hotel I’ll talk about later.
Excalibur’s renovated pool deck features four pools, a waterslide, cabanas, a full-service bar, and a cafe, so it’s ideal for an afternoon together. There is also a shopping area for souvenirs and snacks, and eight restaurants, plus a food court, so you can appease all the appetites in your family.
If your kids like fairytales and fantasy stories, they’ll enjoy the Tournament of Kings, a medieval jousting tournament with a banquet feast. Another option is The Ultimate 4D Experience, an immersive attraction showing short films based on blockbuster movies like Man of Steel and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
While it’s one of the best kid-friendly hotels in Las Vegas Strip, adults will be happy here, too. Indulge at the spa or unleash your inner child at the Fun Dungeon, a grown-up arcade with classic skill-based games.
Excalibur offers one and two-bedroom suites with in-room Wi-Fi, separate living and sleeping areas, a personal fridge, and a wet bar. Kids will love the view of the Strip’s famous landmarks, and parents will appreciate the big granite bathrooms.
6. Bellagio, a beautiful kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas
The Bellagio resort is one of Las Vegas’ best hotels and one of Sin City’s most famous landmarks. It’s also one of the best hotels in Las Vegas for families, so consider a special vacation in this luxury resort.
The hotel’s most notable attraction is the Bellagio Fountains dancing water show, a spectacular display of over a thousand water jets choreographed to music and special lighting effects. It’s a free nightly show that you can watch from the ground or your hotel room, and the show plays every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Visiting the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden is another free thing to do in Las Vegas. The conservatory is open year-round, although the themed displays change with the seasons. Kids will love walking through the tropical gardens and butterfly house while marveling at the beautiful decorations and animals made of flowers.
What makes the Bellagio such a great kid-friendly Las Vegas hotel is that it has amenities to suit younger guests and adults. For example, the Cirque du Soleil show O features synchronized swimmers, divers, and acrobats performing in a huge pool of water. Speaking of pools, the resort has five, and all ages are permitted.
Adults will appreciate all the dining options and the awesome concierge services that can help with reservations, tickets, and babysitting recommendations. As for your room, I suggest one with fountain views or a multi-view suite. The accommodations include high-speed Internet, remote-controlled curtains, a stocked minibar, plush bathrobes, and a big bathroom with a soaking tub and glass-enclosed shower.
7. New York-New York, one of the best Las Vegas hotels for families
New York-New York is one of the coolest hotels in Las Vegas; I mean, it has a roller coaster winding around it! The themed resort brings a bit of NYC to Sin City with replicas of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and other landmarks. It’s one of the best hotels to stay in Las Vegas with family, and everyone will find something they love here.
Kids will be eager to ride the Big Apple Coaster, which has a 144-foot drop and a maximum speed of 67 mph. If that’s too extreme, check out the Big Apple Arcade and play video and arcade games like skeeball. Both attractions are included in the Las Vegas City Pass (the best CityPass in Las Vegas).
Day and night, there are lots of things to do at New York-New York. Dine at over 20 restaurants and bars, check out the pool deck or stop by Hershey’s Chocolate World for a sweet treat. If you’re traveling with teens, they might enjoy watching a show.
Plus, New York-New York is part of The Park Vegas, an outdoor dining and entertainment hub that includes the Park Theater, T-Mobile Arena, the 40-foot Bliss Dance sculpture, and Park MGM resort. You can also use the pedestrian bridges to go to Excalibur or MGM Grand for even more attractions.
New York-New York offers simple accommodations, but they’re comfortable and include pillowtop mattresses, marble bathrooms, in-room dining, and Wi-Fi. I recommend a room with views of Park Vegas.
8. Hilton Grand Vacations Suites, the best family hotel off the Las Vegas Strip
Hilton Grand Vacations Suites is a budget and kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas that you should check out. Located on the north end of the Strip, it’s close enough to the main scene, but away from the crowds.
The best part about Hilton Grand Vacations is that it’s quiet. It’s one of the Las Vegas hotels without a casino, so it’s a good family resort. There are enough amenities here to keep the kids happy, like basketball courts and an amazing pool. You could easily spend an afternoon lounging poolside on the patio or enjoying the whirlpools and fountains.
Plus, the hotel is just a mile from the Adventuredome and about a 12-minute walk to the STRAT, which has lots of kid-friendly attractions.
When you return to your room or suite after an action-packed day, you’ll be grateful for the hotel’s quiet location. The non-smoking rooms are clean and cozy, with complimentary Wi-Fi and in-room movies. Enjoy the view from the large windows and use the blackout curtains to get restful sleep. One and two-bedroom suites are available; the spacious accommodations have full kitchens with updated appliances. Plus, the rates are quite good, so it’s one of the best hotels to stay in Las Vegas with family.
9. Wynn Las Vegas, another one of the best Las Vegas hotels for families
It’s no secret that Wynn Las Vegas is one of the most magical kid-friendly hotels in Las Vegas. The gorgeous property gives off a spectacular feel even from the outside, and when you stay here, you’ll feel like a VIP.
One of the Wynn’s main attractions is the Lake of Dreams, a free water attraction with whimsical puppets and special effects. The 3-acre lake and waterfall take on an enchanted glow from 5,500 LED lights, and the show plays every 30 minutes starting at dusk.
Besides having one of the best spas in Las Vegas, The Wynn is home to a luxurious pool deck with three sparkling outdoor pools and jacuzzi tubs surrounded by lush gardens. After a morning at the pool, check out the huge boutique shopping area or the Fashion Show Mall across the street. Satisfy your hunger at one of the Wynn’s 12 restaurants, several of which offer alfresco dining in the courtyard gardens.
As one of the best Las Vegas hotels for families, the Wynn offers incredible rooms with beautiful artwork and flowers. The accommodations feel like a fairytale, and they include modern amenities like touchscreen temperature and lighting controls, UHD TVs, and twice-daily housekeeping. Tower Suites with panoramic views of the Strip or Las Vegas valley are also available.
10. MGM Grand, another top kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas
The MGM Grand resort is another popular hotel in Las Vegas that’s kid-friendly. It’s also the largest single hotel in Sin City and the entire USA, so there is something for everyone here.
Perhaps the coolest part of MGM Grand is the Grand Pool Complex, one of the best pools in Las Vegas. It covers 6.5 acres and has four pools with waterfalls, three whirlpools, and a lazy river.
There are lots of interesting indoor attractions too, like CSI: The Experience, and The Hunger Games Exhibition. Kids and adults may enjoy the comedic performances and magic shows at MGM Grand, as well as the resident Cirque du Soleil show Kà. If you have older kids, they’ll love the Zero Latency virtual reality attraction.
MGM Grand is one of the best hotels to stay in Las Vegas with family because the room rates are quite affordable, and the resort has so many activities for all ages. I suggest a night at Topgolf, an entertainment and dining venue with swimming pools and sports-themed games for all skill levels and ages. You could also take the pedestrian bridge to New York-New York and have some fun over there.
When it’s time to rest, you can head back to your contemporary room or suite. Along with good rates and a central location, MGM Grand has convenient amenities like a media hub, minibar, and floor-to-ceiling windows with Strip and city views.
11. Golden Nugget, one of the most popular Las Vegas hotels that are kid-friendly
When looking for a family-friendly place to stay, don’t forget about the hotels in downtown Las Vegas. The Golden Nugget is a great kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas‘s downtown district, and its old Vegas vibe will appeal to older guests.
The resort is quite interesting, with a rich history and some unique attractions. One of those is the Hand of Faith, the largest gold nugget in the world. Moreover, the property’s layout incorporates two aquariums, one in the lobby and the other in the pool. The Shark Tank at the pool is a popular tourist attraction because it has a waterslide that takes you through the shark habitat. The Tank pool is the hotel’s family-friendly swimming area, while the Hideout is a 21+ pool complex.
While the Golden Nugget has nine on-site restaurants, you can find even more dining and entertainment options next door at the Fremont Street Experience. Here you can see concerts and the free Viva Vision light show or ride the Slotzilla zipline.
The hotel is also close to some of the best things to do in downtown Las Vegas, like the Mob Museum, Downtown Container Park, Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, the Premium Outlets, and the Neon Museum. If you want to see these attractions and other historic parts of the area, check out this 3-hour night bus tour.
Finally, the Golden Nugget is one of the best hotels in Las Vegas for families because the rates are good, and you can’t beat the location. Choose from deluxe and premium rooms, as well as larger suites. The views might not be as good as on the Strip, but all the best amenities are here, including seating areas, in-room Wi-Fi, and separate showers and bathtubs.
12. Treasure Island, one of the best Las Vegas hotels for families
The name Treasure Island evokes a magical place for the young and the young at heart, and this resort really is a great kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas. With its impressive pirate ship out front, the resort is one of the most enjoyable hotels on the Strip, and the rates are decent for the location.
Treasure Island is one of the top casino hotels in Las Vegas and offers plenty of the typical Vegas attractions while still appealing to the younger crowd. Kids of all ages will love Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère production, a high-energy show full of acrobats and amazing human feats. The Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is another kid-friendly activity to do as a family.
The outdoor pool at TI is a tropical paradise in the middle of the city. Take a break while lounging on a daybed or hot tub while listening to live music and indulging in the pool menu. Speaking of food, you can find steak, seafood, barbecue, and much more at this hotel, so don’t worry if you have picky eaters in your family. You can also take the tram to The Mirage or use the overhead walkway to go to the Fashion Show Mall or The Venetian for more dining and fun.
TI is one of the best hotels in Las Vegas for families of all sizes, thanks to the wide selection of accommodations. Along with the deluxe rooms, there are several types of suites with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the mountains or Strip. It’s worth it to book a suite for the extra space and the whirlpool jet tub!
13. Planet Hollywood Resort, another exciting kid-friendly hotel in Las Vegas
Planet Hollywood Resort is a focal point on the Strip and one of the best hotels in Las Vegas for families. While it’s in the middle of the action, it’s one of the Las Vegas hotels with free parking, so you won’t have to worry about your car.
The most popular thing at Planet Hollywood is The Scene Pool Deck on the 6th floor, where you’ll find two pools, hot tubs, and the free-standing wave attraction, FlowRider. There are also lounging cabanas and a grill/bar so you could stay there all day with no problems.
Of course, the resort has a lot more to offer, including a casino and spa/salon for adults. All ages will have fun at the Miracle Mile Shops, a 1.2-mile stretch with over 170 stores, 15 restaurants, and live street performances. It’s also home to Zappos Theater, where Britney Spears had her residency show. Inside the hotel’s casino, the mezzanine level includes a showroom where you can see Criss Angel’s magic show.
Overall, Planet Hollywood is one of the best kid-friendly hotels in Las Vegas if you want to stay on the Strip. The Hollywood-themed rooms are trendy yet affordable, and you can choose a room with pool or Strip views. The resort rooms and suites come with a personal fridge, flat-screen TV, and an oversized soaking tub.
14. The STRAT, one of the best hotels to stay in Las Vegas for families
The STRAT has an iconic spot on the Vegas skyline, so you’re probably already familiar with its massive tower. Officially known as the SkyPod, it’s the country’s tallest observation tower at 1,149 feet. As the STRAT’s main attraction, the SkyPod offers a variety of activities and thrills that will appeal to all ages.
It’s this blend of entertainment and fun that makes the STRAT one of the best family-friendly hotels in Las Vegas. While you’re visiting the SkyPod, check out both of the observation decks because they’re on different levels; one has a few dining options and the other has the SkyJump bungee-jumping ride. At the tower’s apex, there are more thrill rides and the Top of the World revolving restaurant. Don’t worry; it rotates slowly and takes 80 minutes to complete one revolution!
You can save money on some of these attractions with the Las Vegas City Pass. However, if you need something a bit tamer, check out the Tower Shops at the base of the property or the Celestia tent, which hosts acrobatic shows. The STRAT also hosts other performers, like magicians and musicians, as well as MJ Live, a tribute to Michael Jackson. To completely chill out, go to the Elation Pool on the 8th floor, which has three whirlpool spas and a cafe/bar.
Moreover, the STRAT is one of the cheapest hotels in Las Vegas, with great rates and a family suite that accommodates six people.
15. Red Rock Casino, another one of the best family hotels in Las Vegas off the Strip
Finally, Red Rock Casino is the best family hotel in Las Vegas off the Strip. This all-inclusive Las Vegas resort is perfect if you’re looking for a luxury experience without the sometimes-suffocating feel of the Strip.
Don’t worry about being farther from the Strip because Red Rock has all kinds of on-site attractions. Along with a movie theater, a bowling alley, and an arcade, there is the Sandbar Pool, a collection of pools and hot tubs amidst a beautifully landscaped oasis.
You’ll also find several casual and fine dining options here, and the hotel’s concierge service can help set up a tour or day trip from Las Vegas, like Red Rock Canyon. The resort even has a supervised child-care facility called KidsQuest with games and activities to keep young ones busy.
The rooms are a bit pricey, but if you’re going to use all the amenities, it’s worth it. The standard rooms include UHD TVs, dual-vanities, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a soaking tub, and the suites are even more luxurious. The large windows will let in lots of natural light and give you views of Red Rock Canyon or the Strip.
