If you’re looking for cheap flights to Lanzarote, you should know that you can find them without too much trouble. There are currently several low-cost airlines offering flight deals to Lanzarote from Europe and the UK. While you won’t find direct flights from the United States to Lanzarote, there are still cheap solutions to get you there.
On one of our trips to the Canary Islands, we decided to land in Lanzarote, and we were able to find last-minute deals. This allowed us to save money on airfare, which we could then use on activities and tours around the island.
In this guide, I’ll tell you how we found our flights as well as tips to help you save money on your tickets. Lanzarote has just one airport, the César Manrique-Lanzarote International Airport, but you can still find great deals in much the same way that you would find cheap flights to Tenerife, which has two airports.

Best search engines to find cheap flights to Lanzarote
When we need to find cheap flights, we use search engines rather than the more mainstream airline ticket websites. These search engines compare all the available cheap flights to Lanzarote for us, so we always see the best deals right away.
Our favorite tool is Kiwi.com, a flight price comparator that looks for the most economical routes and connections. So, even if you’re traveling from a place that doesn’t offer direct flights to Lanzarote, Kiwi can find the cheapest way to fly there.
Another search engine that we like to use is Skyscanner, which does an exhaustive search through different airline websites to find the cheapest days to travel. So, if you’re flexible with your travel dates, you can find amazing flight deals to Lanzarote and the other Canary Islands.
Of course, you can find cheap flights to Lanzarote through other tools and websites, such as cheapoair.com or Kayak. It’s worth taking a look at each of these sites since it’ll take just a few minutes and you’re sure to find the lowest prices available.
Best time to fly cheaply to Lanzarote
You can find cheap flights to Lanzarote year-round since many different airlines travel from the Canary Islands to the UK, Spain, and the rest of Europe. Even in peak travel season, there are still price drops and deals to be found.
That said, you’ll find the cheapest flights to Lanzarote in October and November. The period from January to May is also a good time to snag deals. Avoid holidays like Easter and Christmas, unless you’re okay with paying quite a bit more for your plane tickets.
If you need some convincing, the low travel season is an excellent time to visit the Canary Islands. It’ll be much quieter and there will be fewer people, so you can take advantage of Lanzarote’s best attractions without battling the crowds.
In addition, the weather is very good year-round, and even better if you travel in late spring and early fall. There will be more hours of daylight and a greater array of discounted flights, not to mention cheap hotels in Lanzarote. So, if you’re on a tighter budget, you can save a lot by traveling during those months.
Where you can cheaply fly to Lanzarote from
There is only one airport in Lanzarote, so depending on where you’re flying from, you can find cheap direct flights to Lanzarote.
For example, several airlines offer cheap flights to Lanzarote from the UK, including London, Edinburgh, and also from Dublin, Ireland. If you’re in Spain, you’ll have no problem finding flight deals from the mainland to the Canary Islands.
As for other major cities in Europe, low-cost companies like Ryanair have cheap flights to Lanzarote from Berlin, Venice, Rome, and Paris. There are even direct flights available from Oslo, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and different parts of Belgium.
If you’re in the United States, you won’t find direct routes that go to the Canary Islands. That said, you can fly into Spain, Madeira, or one of the European cities I mentioned, then connect to a cheap Lanzarote flight.
Low-cost companies that offer cheap flights to Lanzarote
Now that you know where to find cheap flights to Lanzarote, let’s talk about the best low-cost airlines that fly to this Canary Island.
EasyJet, Jet2, and Ryanair have cheap flights to Lanzarote directly from the UK and many major European cities. You can also find cheap flights to Lanzarote from Spain and France with Vueling. Something to keep in mind is that these budget airlines can offer super low prices because they charge for all the extras, even things like seat selection and bags.
Many travelers think they are the only airlines traveling to Lanzarote and they only check them. However, I suggest using a search engine comparator like Kiwi.com or Skyscanner, which scours the Internet for the best deals, not only from the airlines I mentioned, but also Smartwings, Aer Lingus, TUI fly, Air Europa, and more.
Also, if you’re already in the Canary Islands, check out Binter, a low-cost Canarian airline that flies between the different islands, as well as some airports in Spain. Binter doesn’t always appear in search engines like Kiwi, so if you want to check this airline, go directly to its official website.
Budget airlines can be a great deal, and while they’re just as safe as other companies, I always recommend keeping AirHelp in mind in case you need to file a claim. AirHelp quickly handles cases for flight cancellations and delays, and you can easily submit your claim through its website.
Tips and tricks to find cheap flights to Lanzarote
This last section has all the tactics and strategies we’ve used many times to find deals on airfare. Check them out and put them to good use when searching for cheap Lanzarote flights.
Use alerts to find cheap flights to Lanzarote
As I mentioned, Kiwi.com or Skyscanner are our best friends when we’re searching for cheap flights to Lanzarote, Tenerife, and beyond. What’s nice about these search engines is that you can activate alerts, so you’ll get notified if the price drops.
All you have to do is select your departure airport, destination, and travel dates, and then select any flights that interest you in the search results. If you’re using Kiwi, click the “Create a price alert” option, and if you’re on Skyscanner, click “Receive price alerts”. You’ll get an email any time the ticket price goes up or down.
This can be a great strategy for finding the cheapest flight deals to Lanzarote, but make sure you don’t wait too long for the price to drop, or else it’ll hike back up again.
Book at the right time to get a cheap flight to Lanzarote
Remember, you’ll find the most affordable prices if you fly in the low season rather than during peak travel season or holidays. While I don’t recommend waiting until the last minute to book your flight, you also shouldn’t buy your tickets months in advance.
Instead, it’s better to start looking about six months before your planned travel date. From there, you can keep an eye on the price and find the cheapest day to fly to Lanzarote.
Fly to Lanzarote cheaply with last-minute offers
While I don’t recommend waiting until the last possible moment, sometimes you can find last minute flight deals to Lanzarote. However, this is always a risk because if the prices are high, you’ll be stuck paying a lot for your ticket.
Refuse the extras to keep your Lanzarote flight cheap
I listed some of the most popular budget airlines that offer low-cost tickets, but you should be careful with these companies. Just because they have cheap Lanzarote flights, they charge for every little thing, from luggage and seat selection to cancellation insurance.
Unless these extra services are essential for your trip, I suggest declining them. Also, don’t purchase the cancellation insurance that the airline offers since it’s usually way overpriced. Instead, check out one of the best travel insurance companies, which will offer the same coverage for a lower price.
Be flexible with your travel dates to find cheaper Lanzarote flights
By being flexible with your travel dates and times, you’ll have higher chances of finding the lowest ticket prices. You can even find the cheapest day to fly to Lanzarote by activating Skyscanner’s price alerts.
Buy two separate, cheap one-way flights to and from Lanzarote
Along the same lines, buying two one-way tickets can sometimes save you more money. If you buy your departure and return tickets separately, you can get flight deals to Lanzarote from different airlines or websites, maximizing your savings.
Search engines like Kiwi and Skyscanner already do this for you, combining departure and return tickets from different companies. That’s another reason why we love using these services to find the best prices.
Fly cheaply to Lanzarote with a layover on another Canary Island
My last tip for finding cheap direct flights to Lanzarote is to consider flying to a different Canary Island, such as Tenerife before going to Lanzarote.
All of the Canary Islands are connected by plane or ferry, so you can fly to one and easily get to the other. In this way, you can save money on your flights, as well as take the opportunity to see a new island.
That’s it from me! I hope this guide helps you find a cheap flight to Lanzarote for your Canary Islands getaway. Don’t hesitate to leave me a question if you’re still unsure about how to find cheap Lanzarote flights, or if you have your own tip to share. I’d also love to hear about your experience using these strategies and tips.
Until then, stay safe, and enjoy visiting Lanzarote!
