We also took the opportunity to stay in one of the best hotels in Las Américas, which allowed us to enjoy many popular attractions in Tenerife South.

With its golden sand and crystal clear and calm waters, it’s no surprise that everyone wants to visit this magnificent beach. Thanks to the breakwater, it has very few waves, making it a great option for children and beginner surfers and swimmers. And if you’re lucky, you might even stumble upon beach events in Playa de las Americas, especially in the summer. Here, you can also find rentals for sunbeds and umbrellas, volleyball nets, showers, and accessible walkways for people with reduced mobility. We had the pleasure of staying at The Regency Country Club, and we would definitely choose it again without any hesitation. The hotel offers expansive and elegantly furnished rooms. It is exceptionally well-maintained and surrounded by luxurious facilities. Plus, it is one of the few hotels in Tenerife with a jacuzzi. The only minor drawback was that the hotel is a bit far from the center.

For those seeking a well-located and affordable option, the Catalonia Oro Negro is one of the best cheap hotels in Tenerife. Here you can find many great features and amenities like a heated pool and a fully equipped gym, perfect for relaxation and staying active during your stay. Plus, there is a buffet-style restaurant with show cooking, an ideal destination for food lovers.

But what makes it truly unique is its menu with almost limitless options, allowing you to savor the best flavors from each region. Don’t miss the opportunity to try one of the best traditional Canarian dishes: wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce—it’s phenomenal!

If you are going to spend a night out at the Papagayo Beach Club, you can try its restaurant as well. The menu offers many options like salads, burgers, fish dishes, pasta, and more. Pro tip: opt for the brunch menu, which has lots of delicious and inexpensive options.

How to get to Playa de las Americas in Tenerife

Playa de las Americas is quite an accessible destination whether you land at Tenerife North Airport or the South Airport. If you want to visit different areas on the island, your best option is probably renting a car in Tenerife through DiscoverCars.

If you don’t want to rent a car, you can always use the Canarian bus services. At both Tenerife North and South Airports, you can take line 343, which goes straight to Los Cristianos. From there, you can take the 471 to the Columbus stop, in Playa De Las Americas. You can check all the schedules on the TITSA website.

If you’re looking for convenience and speed, book a private transfer. Simply provide the pick-up location and the destination. This is the most convenient way to reach Playa De Las Americas from anywhere on the island. Private transfers are a bit expensive, but if you’re traveling in a group, you can split the costs.
